What is included

An interior job is mostly careful preparation

Anyone can roll a wall. The difference shows up at the edges, on the patched spots, and on your baseboards the day after.

  • Furniture moved and covered, floors masked and protected before any can is opened.
  • Drywall repaired — nail pops, cracks, corner dings and old anchor holes filled and sanded flat.
  • Stains primed so water marks and old smoke do not bleed through your finish coat.
  • Trim caulked where it meets the wall, so the line reads sharp instead of shadowed.
  • Cut in by hand at ceilings, corners and casings. No sloppy tape lines.
  • Cleaned up nightly, then walked with you at the end so anything you spot gets fixed.

The jobs that come up mid-project

You do not need a second contractor for any of this. It goes on the same estimate, at the same fixed price.

Drywall repair

Cracks, holes, water damage and failed tape. Patched, textured to match, then primed so the repair disappears under paint.

Popcorn ceiling removal

Scraped, skim-coated smooth or re-textured to match the rest of the house, with the room sealed off while it happens.

Wallpaper removal

Steamed and stripped, adhesive washed off, walls skim-coated where the paper tore the surface, then primed.

Kitchen cabinets

Degreased, hardware off, bonding primer, then stain-glaze and varnish. See the full cabinet process on its own page.

Texture matching

Orange peel, knockdown, skip trowel or hand texture — matched so a patch does not stand out across the room.

Garage floor epoxy

Ground, cleaned and coated so the floor stops soaking up oil and starts wiping clean.

What Austin homeowners said about the inside work

All we had to do was meet with Tex Painting, get a quote, and then schedule the job. Everyone that I met with was extremely professional and great to work with, and they finished our entire interior in less than 2 days and did a fantastic job. We had gotten several quotes and found that their price was fair and the quality was excellent. We’re very pleased with the experience (which can sometimes be a nightmare) and the job that they did. I’d highly recommend Tex Painting!

TexPainting crews are quiet and efficient. Scott’s professionalism is outstanding—he is super-responsive and super clear. Especially, when I was doing an inspection with him, I was pleasantly surprised that he noticed some imperfect jobs himself and voluntarily put the blue tapes on them, so that his crews can take care of the job later. Thanks TexPainting for a beautiful, well-done job! I’d recommend them for any of my friends!

The experience was exemplary from the very start. We worked with George who, from the beginning, we could tell wanted to ensure our satisfaction. The initial quote was a bit higher than our budget, and a bit higher than other quotes too, and George was happy to accommodate a discount to help make it more affordable. The painters did an outstanding job, and even when some unexpected walls came up (ones we forgot to point out above our stairs), George accommodated it with a smile. Our house looks beautiful!

Straight answers

Interior painting questions

How much does it cost to paint a house in Austin?

Price comes down to square footage, the condition of the surfaces, what they are made of (siding, stucco, brick, Hardie), and how many colors you want. That is why the estimate happens at your house instead of over the phone: an owner walks every surface, writes down the exact products and materials, and gives you a fixed price. Whatever the contract says is what you pay at the end — Tex Painting does not re-price a job on completion.

How long does a paint job take?

The average Tex Painting project in Austin takes about three days. A small job can be finished in one day, and a large exterior can run up to seven. Surface condition, how much repair work is needed, and weather on exterior jobs are what move the number.

Do you paint kitchen cabinets, or only walls?

Both. Cabinets get degreased first, hardware removed or taped off, then a bonding clear primer — the step most painters skip — followed by two coats of a customized stain-glaze and one or two varnish coats.

What paint do you use?

Sherwin-Williams. The specific line and sheen are written into your contract before work starts, so you know exactly what is going on your walls rather than finding out afterward.

Ready for a real number on your project?

An owner walks your home, writes down the exact products going on it, and gives you a price that does not move. About 45 minutes, no obligation.
